Welcome to our FAQ section!
Here, you'll find answers to common questions...however, if you are still unsure, please feel free to email us at peopleteam@designmuseum.org and we will do our best to help.
Please contact our People Team at peopleteam@designmuseum.org with any questions, queries or issues you may have. If the deadline closes during a weekend, please email us before the closing date/time and we will be in touch on the next working day.
Please note the inbox is monitored Monday-Friday.
When you have submitted your application, you will receive an acknowledgement email from us. Please note, this may be sent directly to your junk folder.
The People Team aim to contact all candidates by email regarding the status of their application within three weeks of the closing date.
We would love to provide feedback on every application we receive but the number of applications we review makes this extremely difficult. We are generally only able to provide interview feedback to candidates who were initially shortlisted.
When completing your application form, you will be given the opportunity to disclose your educational qualifications. In some roles, specific educational qualifications are required and this will be expressed within the job post.
You should provide details of your employment history for at least the past five years to date, starting with your current/most recent position. Please give details of all full and part-time work, including periods of self-employment.
References will only be requested if you are made a conditional offer of employment, or in advance if you have given your permission and this will form part of our pre-employment checks.
References help us verify your work and employment history. We suggest providing your latest employer, as well as another individual you have worked with recently or a member of staff from your education provider.
We collect certain personal data from our candidates in order to assist us in our equal opportunities and diversity monitoring. Please be assured this personal data is not shared with anyone involved in hiring decisions and is only used for continuous monitoring of statistics.
There is no specific dress code so please dress how you see fit.
We encourage an open conversation about adjustments you may need and we will do our best to accommodate depending on the circumstances.
Shortlisted candidates will be given the option to request adjustments by emailing peopleteam@designmuseum.org
Since June 2020, we have begun a process of reviewing the way we work with the intention of building a future for the museum where equality and inclusion are at the heart of what we strive to achieve. This is not a new commitment but does reaffirm our position that the Design Museum is an anti-racist organisation.
